On January 17, 2019, Bedford-Somerset Developmental and Behavioral Health Services (DBHS) transitioned its pre-vocational, community participation supports programs to the Barber National Institute. The programs serve individuals with intellectual/ developmental disabilities (I/DD) in both Bedford (44 participants) and Somerset (53 participants) counties. DBHS selected the Barber National Institute after completing a four-month pre-vocational consultation project. This is the Barber National Institute’s first community participation supports (CPS) programs in central Pennsylvania.
