Philadelphia To Invest $36 Million In Resilience Project To Increase MAT Access

In the March 7, 2019 release of the city budget and five-year plan, Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney announced the inclusion of $36 million in new investments to support the Philadelphia Resilience Project. The budget includes $6.5 million over five years to the Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services (DBHIDS) for outreach, recovery housing, and supports for expanded syringe exchanges. The citywide opioid emergency response program launched in October 2018, with a focus on increasing access to medication assisted treatment for opioid use disorder.
