Philips Buys Carestream Health’s Health Care Information Systems

Leading technology organization Royal Philips (Philips) recently announced it has acquired Carestream Health’s (Carestream) health care information systems (HCIS).  The acquisition adds to Philips’ suite of imaging technologies, in addition to bolstering its foothold in the health IT market.

Carestream offers medical imaging and health care IT solutions for health care provider organizations, all backed by a global service and support network. The extra revenue that Carestream’s HCIS will bring to Philips is anticipated to place Philips on par with market leader GE Healthcare.
