MIT Launches Down Syndrome Research Center
On March 20, 2019, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) announced the start of its research-oriented Alana Down Syndrome Center. The goal of the new center is to increase what’s known about the biology and neuroscience of Down syndrome and work to develop interventions and technologies to improve life for people with the condition; and to focus on understanding the link between Down syndrome and Alzheimer’s disease. The Alana Down Syndrome Center is in MIT’s Picower Institute for Learning and Memory.
