American Medical Association, UnitedHealthcare Tackling Social Determinants Of Health
The American Medical Association (AMA) and UnitedHealthcare recently announced they are collaborating on a new initiative to standardize the collection, processing, and integration of social determinants of health data. The social determinants of health refer to an individual’s access to things such as secure housing, transportation, fresh food, caregivers, and other resources.
The general idea is that by addressing these issues, access to and quality of care for certain consumer populations can be improved.
