New York City Seeks To Move Inmates With Behavioral & Other Complex Medical Needs To Therapeutic Housing Units
On March 8, 2019, New York City Health + Hospitals/Correctional Health Services (CHS) solicited proposals to provide consultant services to explore the feasibility, conceptual design, and cost of "outposted therapeutic housing unit (OTxHU) beds" for inmates with mental health issues, substance use, and complex medical needs. The goal of the potential resulting project is to allow for easier access to specialty services for these individuals.
