The Tennessee Medicaid program is preparing to submit a waiver request to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to expand services for children under age 18 who have disabilities or complex medical needs and who do not qualify for Medicaid because of their parent's income or assets exceed the Medicaid limit. The waiver, referred to as the Katie Beckett Waiver, covers medical devices, medications, and long-term services and supports needed by the children that are not covered by private insurance plans.
