OnMed Launches Unstaffed Telemedicine Booth

OnMed, a Florida-based technology company, launched a self-contained, unstaffed telemedicine booth. The FDA and HIPAA regulated station features live exams with a medical professional as well as a built-in prescription drug dispensary. The first two units opened in April in northern Mississippi, and while OnMed’s CEO said the company has contracts with a few health systems, names of the health systems were not disclosed.

The unit has a special sanitation and air filtration systems that greet each consumer upon walking into the booth. Once in use, a consumer is then met by a virtual medical assistant . . .
