Indiana Launches Medicaid Work Requirements
On July 1, 2019, Indiana Medicaid launched Gateway to Work, which requires adult, non-disabled beneficiaries enrolled in the Healthy Indiana Plan (HIP 2.0) to report work hours or other community engagement activities, such as work, education, or service. Initially beneficiaries must participate in 20 hours per month of approved activities, unless they already meet or are exempt from the requirements. The hours requirement rises to 40 hours per month on October 1, 2019. However, it rises to 60 hours per month as of January 1, 2020, and rises again to 80 hours per month on July 1, 2020 . . .
