Boston Hospitals Launch $3 Million ‘Innovative Stable Housing Initiative’
Three Boston hospitals including Boston Medical Center, Boston Children’s Hospital, and Brigham and Women’s Hospital launched the 'Innovative Stable Housing Initiative (ISHI)' to provide housing to low-income households facing housing insecurity. The ISHI is funded by a combined investment of almost $3 million by the three hospitals over three years as part of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health’s Determination of Need (DoN) Community Health Initiative. The goal is to identify, assess, and fund strategic approaches to increase housing stability for vulnerable populations.
