Georgia Corrections Awards Behavioral & Dental Contract To Incumbent Centene
On August 2, 2019, Centene Corporation announced that the Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) awarded a $536.5 million contract for jail mental health and dental services to Centurion, a Centene subsidiary. Centurion was the incumbent to the contract, and has held it since 1997 under the name MHM Correctional Services, Inc. (MHM). Centurion will provide mental and dental health services at all GDC state prison facilities. The contract went live on July 1, 2019; it includes nine annual renewal options. The first year contract value is $48.2 million.
