Researchers working with a consortium of five health systems have developed a tool to identify consumers with chronic kidney disease (CKD). The tool accurately diagnosed chronic kidney disease (CKD) in health care consumers in these five health systems. For identifying CKD, researchers found the sensitivity, specificity, and diagnostic accuracy of the tool were 99%, 99%, and 98%, respectively. In comparison, dialysis scored 94% sensitivity and 89% specificity; and transplant scored 97% sensitivity, and 91% specificity.
