CarePoint Issues 2,700 Layoff Notices, Prepares To Sell 2 Hospitals

Jersey City, New Jersey-based CarePoint Health is taking steps toward selling two hospitals. CarePoint signed a letter of intent in late October to sell Christ Hospital in Jersey City and Hoboken University Medical Center to Orange, New Jersey-based RWJBarnabas Health. In addition to selling two hospitals to RWJBarnabas, CarePoint is seeking a strategic partner for its other hospital, Bayonne Medical Center.
