Illinois Medicaid Implementing Managed Care For Foster Care On February 1, 2020
Illinois Medicaid will implement a managed care plan for foster care beginning on February 1, 2020. YouthCare, operated by IlliniCare Health, is a specialized HealthChoice Illinois model of care designed to improve health outcomes for approximately 17,000 current youth, including former Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) youth, and special needs children. The DCFS youth transition from HealthChoice to YouthCare is being implemented in two phases. Phase one began on November 1, 2019, and phase two will begin on February 1, 2020.
