North Carolina Expands Medicaid Value-Based Payment Strategy
On January 8, 2020, the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NC DHHS) announced that it will expand its Medicaid value-based payment (VBP) strategy with new medical home incentives, accountable care organizations (ACOs), and new programs. Plans for the expansion are not finalized, and the state accepted comments through February 19, 2020. The final plan will be released after incorporating feedback from the comment period; however, no date has been given for the final plan.
