On February 10, 2020, the Arkansas Department of Human Services (DHS) released a request for proposals (RFP 710-20-0024) seeking one or more contractors to provide supervised independent living (SIL) programs for young adults ages 18 to 21 who elect to participate in extended foster care. Proposals were due by March 2, 2020. DHS is accepting bids for 17 counties: Benton, Craighead, Crawford, Drew, Faulkner, Garland, Greene, Jefferson, Lonoke, Columbia, Miller, Pope, Pulaski, Saline, Sebastian, Washington, and White. The state estimates that it will award contracts for approximately 40 beds statewide.
