Oklahoma Medicaid Adds Registered Behavior Technicians As New Professional Type For Autism Treatment
On January 15, 2020, the Oklahoma Health Care Authority (OHCA) announced a policy change to establish registered behavior technicians (RBT) as a SoonerCare Medicaid professional type. Under the oversight of a board-certified behavior analyst (BCBA), RBTs can now provide direct services to SoonerCare members under age 21 who qualify for applied behavior analysis (ABA) services. RBT services are billable as CPT code 97153.
