Anthem Reports Behavioral Health Telemedicine Visits Are 56 Times Higher Than Pre-COVID-19 Levels
On July 29, 2020, Anthem reported that the number of telemedicine visits for behavioral health was 56 times higher than usual during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic public health emergency. The increase was mentioned during an investor earnings call. Chief Executive Officer Gail Boudreaux said that its Beacon Health Options behavioral health subsidiary was able to quickly adapt to the increase in demand.
