Feds Finalize Self-Referral & Anti-Kickback Statutes To Support Value-Based Arrangements
Starting January 19, 2021, the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services will implement changes to the Physician Self-Referral Law (the “Stark Law”) and Anti-Kickback statute. The rules provide greater flexibility for health care providers to participate in value-based arrangements and to provide coordinated care for patients. The final rules also lessen the compliance burden for health care providers and other stakeholders across the industry, while maintaining safeguards to protect consumers and programs from fraud and abuse.
