Breitenstein, a co-founder of Optum Ventures, recently launched FOLX, a digital health startup focused on offering health care to people who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or queer (LGBTQ). The company is a direct-to-consumer health company focused on providing care that addresses identity, sex, and family issues among people in the LGBTQ community. FOLX is intended to help LGBTQ people avoid common obstacles to receiving appropriate health care services, including being misgendered or shuffled between provider organizations.
