97% Of Medical Practices Experienced COVID-Related Drop In Visits In April & Only A Slight Rebound By July, 2020
During the initial phase of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) public health emergency, 97% of medical practices reported a drop in visit volumes by early April, and 71% experienced a drop of 50% or more. Virtual visit volume remained low and did not fill the gap, although about 57% of people had a medical condition that required professional attention during the COVID-19 public health emergency.
