The Indiana State Psychiatric Hospital Network, which consists of six state-run psychiatric hospitals, is enhancing its recovery models of treatment by integrating a trauma-informed care model. The goal is to improve the delivery and receipt of psychiatric health care for people with mental health and addiction disorders. The trauma-informed care model assumes that an individual is more likely than not to have a history of trauma, and that addressing the trauma may expedite healing and recovery.
