Tennyson Center In Denver To Close Residential Foster Care Program
Tennyson Center for Children in Denver, Colorado, announced plans on March 17, 2021, to voluntarily close its residential foster care program. The closure affects 13 children; six were already scheduled for placement through reunification, a foster home, a kinship home, or adoption. The organization is making extensive efforts to place the remaining children. The children in the residential program represent 13% of those served by Tennyson Center each year. The closure will not affect other Tennyson programs: its K-12 accredited school, community-based services, Families Together, outpatient services, and Child First programs.
