Denver Opens A Behavioral Health Crisis Center
The City and County of Denver, Colorado, launched a new Behavioral Health Solutions Center for people experiencing a behavioral health crisis. The facility will be operated by Mental Health Center of Denver under contract to the Denver Department of Public Health & Environment. The Solutions Center will offer crisis triage, brief inpatient stays, and transitional housing for people recovering from a mental health crisis. Previously, first responders often had to rely on hospital emergency departments or jails when handling behavioral health calls.
The Behavioral Health Solutions Center houses Denver’s first multifunctional facility offering a three-tiered approach:
