Vermont Medicaid ACO Fails To Meet Financial Targets By 16.3%
According to “Audit of Vermont All-Payer ACO Model Implementation Costs” by the Vermont auditor, the state's all-payer Medicaid accountable care organization (ACO), OneCare Vermont, failed to meet financial targets from 2017 to 2019 by 16.3%, or about $11.1 million. The total cost of the ACO’s operations from 2017, which is the first year Medicaid began participating in the ACO Model, through the end of 2021 is expected to be approximately $68 million.
