Internet-Delivered CBT Stepped Care For OCD Youth Reduces Costs
Treatment costs for youth ages 8 to 17 diagnosed with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) who were treated with internet-delivered cognitive behavioral therapy (iCBT) were 39% lower than costs for youth who received only in-person CBT for OCD. At the six-month follow-up, 68% of those in the stepped care intervention group and 68% of those in the in-person-only group had responded to treatment. Average costs for the stepped care group were lower by $2,104 per person, representing relative savings of 39%.
