New AI Algorithm Improves Brain Stimulation Device Placement
A newly developed artificial intelligence (AI) algorithm may improve the ability of brain stimulation devices to treat disease. The algorithm can be used to guide placement of electrodes for devices that treat epilepsy, movement disorders like Parkinson’s disease, and psychiatric illnesses like obsessive compulsive disorder and depression. The algorithm is based on research focused on how brain networks interact with each other.
