New York Submits Medicaid 1115 Waiver To Address Health Disparities
On August 24, 2021, the New York State Department of Health (DOH) submitted a Medicaid 1115 waiver demonstration proposal seeking new Medicaid funding to address health disparities and systemic delivery systems issues highlighted by coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). DOH requested $17 billion in new Medicaid funding over five years to address health disparities.
