New Jersey Medicaid To Invest $634 Million Into Enhanced HCBS
On October 20, 2021, the New Jersey Department of Human Services (DHS) announced that the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) partially approved the state’s plans to invest $634 million over the next three years to strengthen and expand Medicaid home and community-based services (HCBS) for older adults and individuals with disabilities. The expansion will be funded by state funds plus $329 million in American Rescue Plan matching funds. DHS is still discussing additional proposals valued at more than $100 million with CMS.
