New Jersey Expands Medicaid Coverage For New Mothers To 365 Days Postpartum
On October 28, 2021, New Jersey announced it received federal approval to expand Medicaid coverage for 365 days postpartum. The goal is to improve maternal and infant health. The expansion includes postpartum women with income up to 200% of the federal poverty level (FPL). The expanded coverage will also be provided for women enrolled in the Children’s Health Insurance Program with family incomes above 194% percent and up to 200% of the FPL.
