OPEN MINDS Announces New Executive Event Coming In 2022—The CFO Summit
GETTYSBURG, Pa. (November 28, 2021) — OPEN MINDS announced the addition of a new event to its executive institute schedule—The OPEN MINDS CFO Summit. The new summit will be held on Thursday February 17, 2022, in Clearwater Beach, Florida.
The CFO Summit will launch the OPEN MINDS CFO Consortium, a technical assistance and networking group for financial managers of specialty provider and primary care organizations. The CFO Consortium will be available only to executives of elite-level members of OPEN MINDS Circle.
OPEN MINDS senior associate Ken Carr will lead the CFO Consortium and will be the chair the CFO Summit. This new initiative is designed to build the skills of chief financial officers (CFOs), aspiring CFOs, and executives with financial management responsibilities. Commenting on this new initiative, Mr. Carr said, “The changing landscape with integration, hybrid services, a value-based reimbursement is changing the role of the CFO and the financial management needs of organizations. I view the CFO role as the co-pilot to the CEO. A co-pilot has to do everything the pilot does: you have to know how to fly the plane, navigate, take off and land, and work with your passengers and crew. You have to have knowledge of all systems – clinical services, operations, quality, compliance, marketing, fundraising all while bringing finance, business model acumen to the table. It’s not enough to have the analysis skills; you need the strategy and vision.”
The 2022 OPEN MINDS CFO Summit will focus on four key topics –
- The Post-Pandemic CFO- Navigating The Pandemic & Reorganizing For The Next Normal
- Planning For Growth- Financial Management Of New Revenue, New Contracts, & New Service Lines
- Assuring Access To Capital – How To Finance Growth
- Big Enough To Compete? How CFOs Answer That Strategic Question
The faculty will include both OPEN MINDS senior associates and invited executive faculty.
Membership in the OPEN MINDS CFO Consortium is an opportunity for executives to improve their financial management acumen. In addition to the annual summit meeting, members of the OPEN MINDS CFO Consortium will have facilitated access to the OPEN MINDS Financial Strength Assessment, four on-site/face-to-face financial issues briefing sessions each year, five financial skills webinars each year, and an on-line on-demand technical assistance service.
This year’s summit will take place at the close of The 2022 OPEN MINDS Performance Management Institute. The institute takes place at the Sheraton Sand Key Resort and will provide a deep dive into improving performance and customer value in the “next normal” ̶ what the experts recommend, what leading organizations are doing, and what payers want.
