Optum is planning to expand its administrative offerings for Medicare Advantage institutional special needs plans (I-SNPs) led by skilled nursing facility (SNFs) provider organizations. The administrative services include clinical leadership, sales, and third-party administration. Optum is also offering administrative services to other types of provider-organization run SNPs, such as those focused on Medicare beneficiaries with chronic conditions, beneficiaries dually eligible for Medicare and Medicaid, and Medicare beneficiaries needing institutional-equivalent long-term services and supports. Optum does not intend to be a financial partner in a joint venture.
