Amazon Launches New Elder Care Subscription Service, Alexa Together
Amazon launched a new remote monitoring subscription service called Alexa Together to help older adults age in place in their own homes. The service uses Amazon Echo personal assistant devices to provide a hands-free urgent response emergency help line. The service is compatible with a number of third-party fall detection devices. There is also an optional “Remote Assist” feature to allow a designated family member or friend serving as informal caregiver to check in with and provide assistance to the Alexa Together subscriber by setting reminders, managing shopping lists, and managing settings for the subscriber’s Amazon Echo . . .
