12 Multi-Domain Intervention Sessions Over Three Months Prevented Cognitive Decline In Those At Risk
Among community-dwelling older adults at risk of cognitive decline, those who completed between 12 and 14 sessions over three months of a multi-domain intervention had less likelihood of cognitive decline. The intervention covered nutrition, exercise, social activities, and cognitive training. During the first 12 sessions, the intervention was associated with an initial increase in cognitive improvement. However, the improvement plateaued after 14 sessions. The relationship between the “dose” each received, and their cognitive improvement was determined largely by people’s individuality (such as age, gender, education level, and cognitive and physical condition).
