Adults With ADHD Have Higher Risk Of Neurological & Respiratory Conditions

Adults with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) have a higher risk of nervous system disorders and respiratory disease than adults without ADHD. Adults with ADHD were 50% to four times more likely to have sleep disorders, epilepsy, and dementia than a comparison group without ADHD. Those with ADHD were twice as likely to have asthma and three times more likely to have chronic obstructive pulmonary disease than individuals without ADHD.
