Florida Passes Resident Visitation Rights Law For Senior Health Care Settings
On April 6, 2022, Â Florida Senate Bill (SB) 988 was signed into law to strengthen resident and health care consumer visitation rights in assisted living communities, nursing homes, hospitals, and other health care facilities in the state. Consensual physical contact between residents and visitors also must be allowed.
Health care facilities must allow in-person visitation in all the following circumstances, unless the resident or consumer objects:
