Illinois Legislature Passes Bill Requiring Emergency Worker Training On Alzheimer’s
On March 31, 2022, the Illinois Senate passed a bill that would require emergency medical services (EMS) personnel to complete training on caring for and treating individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. EMS personnel include such roles as emergency medical technician (any level), paramedics, and emergency medical responders. House Bill (HB) 4388 was previously passed by the House of Representatives on February 23, 2022. Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker has not yet signed the bill into law.
