Kentucky Updates To Assisted Living Laws Require Memory Care Units To Obtain Specific Licensure

A Kentucky law signed on March 18, 2022, requires assisted living facilities in the state that offer dementia care units to secure a license to operate the unit, and those offering a secured dementia care unit will need a secondary license. Previously, assisted living communities were required to obtain certification, and were not required to obtain anything separate for dementia care units.
