One-Fifth Of Personal Health Care Spending Is For Services Provided To 1% Of Civilian, Non-Institutionalized Population
About 20.7% of the more than $2 billion spent of personal health expenditures in 2019 on services for the civilian, non-institutionalized population was for services provided to 1% of the population. About 5% of this population accounted for more than $1 billion (51.2%) of personal health expenditures that year. Additionally, nearly14% of the civilian non-institutionalized population had no personal health care expenditures in 2019.
