Wisconsin Expands WisCaregiver Careers Program To Recruit 3,000 More CNAs
On May 18, 2022, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) announced a $6 million grant investment to expand the successful WisCaregiver Careers workforce development program with the goal of training 3,000 additional certified nursing assistants (CNAs) qualified to work in nursing homes. The program is administered by the Wisconsin Health Care Association and LeadingAge Wisconsin. The expansion will go live in the summer of 2022. The grant funding expires one year after the end of the federal public health emergency or July 2024, whichever comes first.
