During the first quarter of 2022, there were 40% fewer private equity deals in the health care sector compared to the first quarter of 2021. The sector includes hospitals and health systems, physician practices, and nursing homes and other long-term care settings. During the first quarter of 2021, private equity investors completed 255 deals. During the first quarter of 2022, there were 171 deals.
