Humana, Inc., and health system AtlantiCare signed a network agreement that will give Humana Medicare Advantage members in-network access to AtlantiCare facilities across southeastern New Jersey. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
The agreement applies to Humana Medicare Advantage health maintenance organization (HMO), preferred provider organization (PPO), and private fee-for-service health plan members. They will have access to AtlantiCare’s hospital campuses in Atlantic City and Pomona, and at its outpatient facilities, including AtlantiCare Urgent Care centers, and AtlantiCare Surgery centers.
As of June 30, 2020, Humana reported Medicare Advantage plan membership of approximately 4.5 million members, and more than 1.3 million fully-insured and self-funded commercial medical plan members. Nationwide, Humana offers at least one type of Medicare plan in all 50 states. It has state-based contracts in three states (Florida, Illinois, and Kentucky). Humana offers fully insured commercial coverage and operates as an administrative services organization in 18 states. The company also provides military health services.
