On September 8, 2020, Covenant Health in Lubbock, Texas announced plans to acquire the existing facilities at Lea Regional Medical Center in Hobbs, New Mexico. Financial terms were not released. The acquisition is slated to be effective January 1, 2021. Lea Regional Medical Center staff will become part of Covenant Health.

Lea Regional Medical Center is a 99-bed, acute care facility providing complete care- from cardiac care and pediatrics, orthopedics, labor and delivery, and outpatient surgery. It also provides short-term skilled nursing.
