Greensboro, North Carolina-based Emtiro Health LLC (Emtiro) and Maryland-based firm Aledade Inc. (Aledade) recently announced they are partnering to launch a new accountable care organization (ACO) in The Triad, a north-central region of North Carolina.

The ACO, which is anticipated to launch in January 2019, will initially focus on recruiting primary care practices in the region to lead the ACO, with plans for possible expansion later on. Statements from Emtiro leadership emphasized the partnership’s hopes that the ACO will help to incentivize high quality care throughout the region, as opposed to simply quantity of care.
