Toby Cosgrove, MD, Cleveland Clinic’s former CEO, will be an executive adviser to the Google Cloud team’s health care and life sciences divisions. In his new role, Dr. Cosgrove will help Google achieve its goals of lowering health care costs, improving consumer experience, advancing population health, and reducing administrative burdens for provider organizations and staff.
Dr. Cosgrove brings several decades of experience in American medicine to Google, and has also established himself as a respected leader in health care. Google Cloud’s health care and life sciences divisions are currently strongly focused on how artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning can be utilized to help streamline and automate workflows in ways that do not inhibit the relationship between the clinical professional and consumer.
