Maryland Directs Nursing Homes To Offer Monoclonal Antibodies For All Facility Residents During A COVID-19 Outbreak In The Facility
The Maryland Department of Health directed all nursing homes in the state to offer monoclonal antibodies to all residents if the facility has an outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). In this event, the nursing home will offer an approved or emergency authorized therapeutic treatment, such as monoclonal antibodies, as treatment to all residents who have tested positive for COVID-19 and as prophylaxis to those who have been exposed. Treatment with monoclonal antibodies reduces the severity of COVID-19 symptoms and reduces the risk of hospitalization and death due to COVID-19.
