Minnesota Passes Additional Bill In Response To COVID-19
On March 26, 2020, the Minnesota House and Senate held floor sessions to pass another bill responding to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). While there were no formal committee hearings, legislators met informally and worked with Governor Tim Walz to develop legislation with strong bipartisan support.
The key policy changes and investments made include $29.964 million in emergency child care grants. These dollars are targeted at child care provider organizations supporting children of essential workers, including community-based mental health staff.
