New Jersey Drops COVID-19 Testing Option For Health Care & Long-Term Care Workers, Vaccine Is Mandatory
New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy announced that health care and direct care workers in “high-risk congregate care settings” must be vaccinated against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), and ended the option of weekly testing for those workers who opted out of vaccination. An executive order that went into effect in September 2021 had permitted weekly testing as an alternative to COVID-19 vaccination for consumer-facing workers in health or congregate care settings. The new announcement ends the weekly testing option.
