NowPow, a personalized community service referral platform, is expanding its digital footprint in the state of Washington through a first-of-its-kind partnership with Educational Service District (ESD) 105. Additionally, Ideal Option, a large outpatient medication-assisted addiction treatment (MAT) provider organization in Washington state, is expanding its use of the NowPow platform to a new region. By using the NowPow platform, the organizations anticipate being able to “close the referral loop,” to track engagement throughout the process so that provider organizations and their community-based partners are able to monitor the outcome of referrals and follow-up as needed.
ESD 105 serves 25 public school districts and more than 20 private and tribal schools in South Central Washington. NowPow’s partnership with ESD 105 has the potential to connect more than 66,000 K-12 students and their families to behavioral health resources in the community. After the initial launch, ESD 105 also plans to utilize NowPow’s referral network to address other social needs, such as food and housing insecurity. As a result, students and families with behavioral health needs served by ESD 105 can be connected with personalized services that are highly matched to both their health and social needs, as well as age, gender, eligibility, location, languages spoken, and insurance coverage.
Ideal Option and its sister company Ideal Balance have been using NowPow’s platform in the Greater Columbia region. During 2020, they administered comprehensive screening to more than 420 consumers with opioid use disorder and matched them to more than 3,600 critical community resources such as housing and job assistance. Ideal Option is expanding the NowPow referral network to consumers in five more counties in the North Puget Sound region in Washington. Founded in 2012, Ideal Option has 65 treatment clinics in 10 states. It provides MAT for opioids, alcohol, methamphetamine, and other substances. It seeks to provide underserved populations with low-barrier access to evidence-based addiction treatment.
NowPow supports referral networks across the nation. NowPow’s personalized community referral platform reflects the current operating status for more than 65,000 community services in 15 geographies. NowPow’s referrals are highly matched and filtered. The goal is to connect people to the right community resources so everyone can stay well, meet basic needs, manage with illness and care for others.
