SAMHSA Awards $35 Million To 15 Organizations For Zero Suicide Initiatives
In August 2020, the federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) awarded 15 private, state, or tribal organizations grants totaling more than $35 million over five years to strengthen “Zero Suicide” initiatives. The grants are valued from $400,000 to $700,000 annually. Anticipated total available annual funding is $7,043,597. The funding opportunity, SM-20-015 “Grants to Implement Zero Suicide in Health Systems,” was posted on January 30, 2020, with applications due by March 30, 2020.
